>Snake 2 Bucket

>

Often with this drill we start with just three cones and focus on the start and stop.
This clip offers an advanced athlete putting it all together.
All high Intensity drills must keep form tight.
Enjoy.Tip of the Iceberg.

>Got Relationships?

>
What makes a successful Personal Trainer?

Relationships.
I love what I do, I believe that I became a trainer to meet people and have a relationships built upon their overall health and well being. I love my clients and I want them to succeed. I believe in them. TO the Athletes I work with I  wish the opportunity to shine and contribute to your success on and off the playing surface.
The ability to not only understand the exercise or the program but the relationship built within the client and trainer session.  Granted It takes a full knowledge of the science of training and the ability to “teach” this ability to motivate, comfort, educate, support etc. Sounds very cliche, “A personal trainer/support system” . When I was training, playing basketball I loved the creativity of the coach, trainer etc to get the most out of me, its ovbious they created a relationship.
However there are few and far rleationships to come by in the day of instant resuluts and 8 pack abs, hgh (See baseball circa-1998-2009) and other social issues, socially economic, etc, have tarnished a industry of service on over expectations and misconceptions about training and performance.
Performance-Goes without saying, results count.
Building a personal relationship(see personal in the job title) with clients.
The training is the science, the relationship between athlete and trainer the ART

>Killer Mentality…

>Watching the NBA playoffs this weekend, I started asking myself what makes a good NBA player Great.  Some would argue Lebron is a genetic wonder and guys like Kobe and Michael Jordan where born to fly.  However watching the careers of such phenomenal players I have come to see the “killer instinct” that the great ones have.  I think of the amount of motivation these athletes have to have in order to make themselves and teammates rise to the moment constantly is what separates the Kwame Browns from the Bill Russels of the world. I would argue that Kwame is a better physical specimen then Russell however lacked the leadership and ability to motivate himself to reach his full potential.  The question is can the average athlete become great based on certain intangibles?  This question can only be answered within.

As a personal trainer it is a responsibility to form a relationship with the athlete and learn what motivates them individually. However, I have seen athletes going through the motions in the off season without that chip on their shoulder that internal fire that all levels of basketball players need, the valuable asset of mental toughness and the will to fail and fail and rise and rise.  We are so caught up on not wanting to stand out for failing that we fail to reach or potential.
Its early in the off season.
What is your motivation?

>Florida, 640 Fox Sports Radio

>

I travel all over the country, this trip has been a vay-kay of some sorts. As I travel I always seem to meet the most interesting people, connections and unique sitiations. This trip I ended up on a Radio program for the greater Southern Florida area. The guests on the show where Former Professional Footbal Player, Lorenzo White and former Heavy Weight Champion of the World Shannon Briggs. Needless to say I was a little out of my league from a career stand point however I was the most entertaining. The Host Jeff who has been a Radio Perosnality for a long time in South Florida was very intriuged by the life of a Washington General and wants to do a follow up interview at some point. It was a blast to be on the air and get to hang with some all time greats and talk shop, I look forward to the follow up and coming back to the Ocean Manor Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

I will be back in Reno, NV for personal training at Sierra Strength and Speed on Sunday and am already getting texts and calls from High School Players eager to start their off season workouts.
